four young children were hungry during the period between the two world wars in 1931. It was the time when the widow Philomena Walch decided to open a bakery with caf\u00e9 and guesthouse with 8 beds. In 1948 her son Vinzenz took over the enterprise.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">In the 1960ies the enterprise started to flourish and several renovation and extension works were conducted. In 1990 Clemens took over the bakery and the then Hotel Central with 36 beds. In May 2000 Clemens and Nicole bought the house of the parents and extended the Gotthard to the modern 4*s hotel in the heart of Lech which it is today.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">For more than 85 years now guests from all over the world experience unforgettable winter holidays in Lech am Arlberg. The Hotel Gotthard is already run by the third generation with much passion and hospitalty.
